There is no way to simulate real surgery unless you have a live animal in front of you. But with a live animal you won’t want to try new ways of suturing or ligating. You won’t want to try a different suture material. You want to avoid mistakes, so it’s not the best opportunity to do experiments.
Simulation allows you to overcome that. You are allowed to try something new, different, something you may consider difficult and have to try several times until you get it right. This is why we offer you a unique simulation experience with our simulation kit.
But in order to learn from simulation, you also have to get positive feedback and keep improving your technique. This is why we bring an expert tutor to teach this course.
This way, you can get it right the first time you have your “real” patient in front of you.
Our training kit includes:
Yes! It's yours to keep forever! :)
We can post the kit throughout the world, but the costs of postage are not included outside of Europe.
This is a mixed content course. Your modules will be delivered weekly and the video demos are not live, but you will have access to an online discussion forum for your questions and to live sessions with your tutor during the 4 weeks of the course. That way, you can do it at your own pace but still receive live support.
Yes, you have access to the online portal and modules forever! However, the online community is only live for the 4 weeks of the course. After that, the comments section is still open but is no longer monitored.
We recommend joining at least 4 weeks before the course date to make sure you receive your simulation kit in time for the course. If you can do it earlier, even better!
Yes, we will offer a 25% refund if you cancel your course before it starts. You do not need to return your simulation kit.
Yes it does, we provide a CPD certificate upon completion (and a final survey) for 14 hours of CPD.
The initial modules focus on surgeon preparation and the principles of surgery, which is applicable to all surgery. Only after we focus on spaying procedures.
We discuss spaying techniques in dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets.
All live Q&A sessions with your tutor are recorded, so even if you can't join, your tutor can still answer your questions (you can send them in advance) and you can watch the recording later.
We will be requesting this information during the registration process - your membership number if you are a practising vet, or your university and official university email if you're a student. If you are not able to provide this information, please contact us on email@example.com for alternative arrangements.
